“A clinic is a haven for ingenuity, technical prowess and creative explorations.”
NO INK is proud to announce its brand new Adelaide based clinic which offers a beautifully relaxed and inspiring space. The overall aesthetic needed to be raw and natural with an industrial urban feel, using natural materials like timber, seagrass and greenery to soften the look. NO INK then introduced to a dusk-twilight colour palette that provides a distinctive and inviting ambience to the space. Our aim is to break away from the cliché sterile clinical space that is cold and uninviting. The dark naturalist look complements our natural, eco-friendly business. On entry to the clinic the lush green Scandinavian grass wall not only looks stunning, but gives an environmentally friendly aspect by purifying the air and acting as a sound buffer. Minimalism in the clinic design works on the principle that less is more. The clinic look is stripped down to essential elements and the empty space is left to make a design statement. We are so excited for you to come visit a one of a kind space for your tattoo removal services.

“Don’t be afraid to ask your technician to see their QRH laser licence before you commit to tattoo removal.”
In South Australia there is currently no regulation for the use of Class 4 medical grade lasers. This means that virtually anyone can pick up a laser without any formal training. Scary hey? Whilst not required in SA (YET!!) NO INK requires all technicians to undergo the highest level of regulated training to Queensland’s Radiation Health standards; the highest level of training available outside of a being medical practitioner. This makes NO INK one of the few tattoo removal companies in South Australia, a government licensed and a certified laser practice.
“Did you know laser tattoo removal performed by beauty clinics and medical practitioners make up less than 1% of their overall work?”
Just because you have seen a high profile beauty clinic advertising tattoo removal or been advised that your regular doctor does tattoo removal, doesn’t necessarily mean you’re making the right choice. Clinics that offer tattoo removal among 100’s of other services means that their knowledge and skill level may be basic. With such a narrow mission, NO INK is focused on being the best at what we do. Tattoo removal is our core business not a sub-service which means we are continually refining our skills and updating our industry knowledge for the best client results. NO INK also have undergone training in tattoo fundamentals so we can speak the same language as tattoo artist and understand common goals.
“Not all Class 4 Lasers are built the same, to avoid permanent damage to your skin, ask your laser technician some simple question.”
One of the scariest times I can remember whilst setting up business was the day I Googled “Buy best Q-Switch Laser in Australia”. I was flooded with 1000 of machines from overseas websites offering “top grade” (I think not) lasers for less than my last electricity bill. There were also many cheap, old, used, unidentified lasers available locally on Gumtree - Most probably trying to be sold off by previous uneducated buyers. Today was the day I realised how unregulated South Australia is and I was left angry wondering how this can happen in today’s market. Before your select the cheapest salon, remember the risks involved. Ask your technician what kind of laser they use and do your research. Ensure the laser is TGA approved, comes from an Australian supplier and is less than 10 years old.
“The TRI-BEAM Q-Switched Nd YAG Laser enables you to treat the broadest range of tattoo colours.”
There is a lot of science behind the removal of a multi-coloured tattoo by laser. Different colours of pigment absorb different levels of laser light energy before they shatter, which is the reason why multi-coloured tattoos are far more difficult to remove. Black is the easiest pigment to remove, because it is the darkest and absorbs the most energy. Green, blue and yellow are some of the most difficult. This means that multi-coloured tattoos requires different laser beams, settings and knowledge making treatment far more complicated and costly. Since each pigment colour absorbs a very specific wavelength, we have chosen the TRI-BEAM which is equipped with four wavelengths - 1064nm, 532nm, 650nm and 585nm - that target 9 of the most frequently used tattoo colours ranging from light orange to dark black. Because only the latest advanced medical-grade lasers come with alternate wavelengths, many clinics fail to provide this solution. Before booking with your laser technician, ensure they specifically treat the colours you need.
“NO INK is one of the first tattoo removal clinics to offer non-laser tattoo removal alternatives”
Glycolic Acid is highly regarded in the beauty industry for its moisturizing and rejuvenating properties. It is mild, safe and harmless to the skin. Used in greater concentrations it also acts as I highly effective tattoo removal solution. It is applied in a similar way to tattooing or micropigmentation by using the same equipment. The tattoo extraction formula starts working almost immediately after applying on the implanted tattoo ink. While healing, the skin extracts more and more undesired ink. Glycolic Acid tattoo removal is commonly used to remove permanent makeup or treat areas such as eyes, lips and nipples where laser is not a suitable option. Due to Iron Oxides in permanent makeup, some pigments may darken or turn black if treated by laser. We also use this method when dealing with corrective flesh or white colour pigments where laser is reflected by these colours.
“If you are willing to endure the pain of another tattoo, then you will be willing to endure the pain of the removal process”.
One of the most frequent concerns for laser tattoo removal clients is the pain of the procedure. Pain responses to laser tattoo removal is varied. Most clients say the procedure feels similar to getting the tattoo, although some say it hurts less... and some say it hurts more. The sensation is commonly described as uncomfortable and similar to a rubber band snapping against the skin. While getting a tattoo can take hours, the good news is that the removal process is usually over within a few minutes, sometimes seconds.
“At NO INK, we work with a wide variety numbing methods. Your comfort is most important, therefore we will take our time to explain the different pain relief options with you at the consultation.”
Ice packs are a surprisingly good option for tattoo removal treatments. The application is an easy and cost-effective. Ice packs work by numbing the surface of the skin and reducing the temperature enough to counteract the heat of the laser. Within five or ten minutes of compression the skin will be adequately numbed to significantly improve the tattoo removal treatment experience.
No additional cost to client
Works well on smaller tattoos or tattoos with a flat surface
Perfect option for clients with allergies to medicated creams
Perfect option if you’re a walk in walking on the spot treatment
Tedious for larger tattoos or tattoo located on body parts such as fingers
Ice packs cannot maintain numbing during the procedure
Pain Numbing creams – such as Emla or Numb It – often include lidocaine, prilocaine, or tetracaine in varying concentrations as active ingredients. These creams are both available in low-strength, over-the-counter formulations and in high-strength, prescription-only formulations. Clients generally like topical creams and see some benefit from it, although we've heard mixed reviews.
Recommended to works in addition to other methods for added comfort.
Most creams need to be applied at least 30 to 45 minutes in advance of the treatment.
Over the counter creams are generally not strong enough to make a significant difference.
Stronger, compounded creams can take 1-2 business days to formulate.
Some pharmacies can charge around $40 for a multiuse tube.
Numbing cream has a 2 month shelf life.
Not an option for those with skin allergies to medicated creams.
Cold air machines are present in virtually all high volume tattoo removal clinics because they provide fast and convenient numbing for the skin. It functions by emitting freezing cold air (-30°C) through a flexible hose. By simply blowing this cold air on the skin for a few minutes, the skin will be thoroughly cooled for treatment – reducing pain and the risk of thermal injuries. Clients can hold the hose of the cooling machine, directing the air where they want the numbing most during their treatment, keeping the patient occupied during the laser procedure.
No additional cost to client
Allows for cooling on larger and difficult to reach areas.
Unlike ice packs, cold air can be applied to the skin durin laser treatment
Cooling machines work faster allowing for a quicker procedure
Perfect option for clients with allergies to medicated creams
Perfect option if you’re a walk in walking on the spot treatment
“Permeant makeup has been a big trend for a while now but it can go terribly wrong.”
There is no denying the beauty world is obsessed with brows and there are now many solutions to choose from when selecting the right tattoo. With the evolution of Microblading, Nanobrows and Powderbrow techniques, eyebrows tattoo continues to be a popular cosmetic treatment. But as the rise of popularity of cosmetic tattoo continues to grow, so has poor quality outcomes; not all cosmetic procedures result in the look that we want. Particularly with tattoos, the result can fade, and the colour can change over time or migrate to different areas. Cosmetic tattoo is also an unregulated industry in Australia and too often underqualified artists are operating resulting in unhappy clients.
The million dollar question... "Can my cosmetic tattoo be removed?".
Whatever the reason for removal, NO INK are able to remove the old pigment in a safe and effective manner. Cosmetic tattooing is different to traditional tattooing in that the pigment usually isn’t injected as deep which helps achieve faster clearance. In most cases it’s quicker to remove eyebrow or other cosmetic tattoos than traditional tattoos. However, due to the complexity of cosmetic pigments and their properties, it’s difficult to know exactly which colours and heavy metals are being treated during the removal process. If the wrong tattoo laser is used during treatment, there is a risk of your eyebrow tattoos going darker or changing colour. The good news is, NO INK are the only dedicated tattoo removal clinic in South Australia that adopt both laser and non-laser removal techniques to treat all kinds of cosmetic ink.
“What are my options for cosmetic tattoo removal?”
Laser is the most common and effective way to remove cosmetic tattoo pigment. However there are a few reasons why laser should be avoided. Most clients are unaware the treated area must be shaved to avoid burning and potential damage of the hair. Shaving an eyebrow may simply not be an option and using an alternate form of removal in this case is purely the clients decision. If you have had corrective skin colour tattooed previously to conceal a bad tattoo the laser light will be reflected and unable to target the unwanted pigment. In this case the only option is non-laser alternatives. Finally, there are some areas on the body which are simply no-go zones with the laser. Soft tissues such as lips and nipple are too delicate and eyelids pose too much of a risk with retina damage. NO INK will assess each cosmetic tattoo individually to determine the more safe and effective tattoo removal.
